Named after Dr Don Hopgood and his late wife, Raelene for their considerable services to the community and art scene, the Hopgood Theatre is a beautiful theatre in the south of Adelaide. A short 35 minute drive from the CBD, this theatre has housed professional productions by the State Theatre Company, Melbourne Comedy Festival, HIT Productions and Perth Theatre Company, as well as many others. It is also a great community based Venue, providing affordable venue services to dance companies, community theatre groups and schools. The Hopgood Theatre remains an excellent and well-maintained Venue, and is currently being managed by Country Arts SA.
